Useful information for participants travelling to Tokyo for Nordic Health Summit Japan 2026.

Airports & transfer times

Narita (NRT)

  • 60–75 min via Narita Express → Tokyo Station
  • Taxi not recommended due to time and cost

Getting around Tokyo

  • Google Maps: fully reliable for public transit directions
  • Taxis: safe and cashless-friendly
  • Recommended taxi apps: GO Taxi or Uber Japan
Tokyo’s public transport is easy to use and highly reliable. Expect a lot of walking, especially in large stations.

IC cards in Tokyo

Tokyo’s public transportation uses rechargeable IC cards. The two main ones are Suica (issued by JR East) and PASMO (issued by Tokyo Metro and private railways).

You can use them for:

  • Metro and trains
  • Buses
  • Many taxis
  • Convenience stores
  • Vending machines
Simply tap in and tap out at ticket gates. The fare is calculated automatically.

Options

Option 1: Add to your phone

If you have an iPhone with Apple Wallet support, you can add Suica or PASMO directly via Apple Wallet.

  1. Open Wallet
  2. Tap “+”
  3. Select Transit Card
  4. Add funds via Apple Pay
  5. Tap your phone at ticket gates

No physical card needed.

Android users

For most international Android phones, mobile Suica usually will not work. A physical IC card is recommended.
